INTRODUCTION OF ETHICAL HACKING

     Ethical Hacking & Security

 Introduction :

Hacking is identifying weaknesses in computer systems or networks to exploit its weaknesses to gain access.

Example of Hacking: Using password cracking algorithm to gain access to a system

What is Information?
Information is nothing but process data. It sounds too technical.
Example of information: Suppose it's in another way information may be credit card numbers debit card numbers PINs G-mail, passwords Facebook passwords Roeser passwords and bank account PINs and so on. And more sets of data are called information.

 What is data?
data is simply a collection of facts or values which may exist in different forms

Information
Meaning
Data is raw, unorganized facts that need to be processed. Data can be something simple and seemingly random and useless until it is organized.
When data is processed, organized, structured, or presented in a given context to make it useful, it is called information.
Example
Each student's test score is one piece of data.
The average score of a class or the entire school is information that can be derived from the given data.
Etymology
"Data" comes from a singular Latin word, datum, which originally meant "something given." Its early usage dates back to the 1600s. Over time "data" has become the plural of datum.
"Information" is an older word that dates back to the 1300s and has Old French and Middle English origins. It has always referred to "the act of informing, " usually in regard to education, instruction, or other knowledge communication.

Types of data:

Data can be classified as
  1.      publicly available data
  2.      confidential data
  3.      restricted or private data.

  •      publicly available data

When data is publicly available to all. It is known as publicly available data.
Example Bank balance sheets and insurance policy details.

  •      confidential data

Governments tend to notices and joke posts held by authorities when data is available only to the people involved in a process or an organization. In other words, it is restricted from unauthorized access. It is called confidential data.
Example A manufacturing company market-focused data test cases and standards of banks customer data
consisting of the addresses and phone numbers were government sensitives scientific and medical research data.

  •      restricted or private data.

When the data is supersensitive In other words, leakage may lead to serious issues. It is known as restricted or private data.
For example, a company system designs trade secrets financial account PINs and e-mail password personal, reports, or medical reports of a person having seen the different types of data sets that are nothing.

What is the need for information security wants?
if a credit card pain becomes available for everyone. What if the number of missiles held by a nation is known worldwide.  What if the system design and test case for a new product of a company are accessible by their competitor.  And what if a tender quotation of all the applicants is accessible by all the other applicants. Do you think it is good to go about without securing this information? Of course not.
Let we now get into information security.
What is information security?
information security is the means of defending information or data stored either physically or electronically from being accessed by unauthorized personnel
